Travel Essentials

Pack Smart… The fundamentals of packing especially when travelling alone are to have everything with you in your bag pack. The key words comfort and convenience, and those things that serve multiple purposes are your absolute hero.

Hard case luggage carry-ons with 4 wheels:

Yes, That’s Specific… And especially those with expandable zipper space to allow you the room to add more if need be. Hard Cases are extremely durable in bad weather and allow you to walk down the road in pouring rain. 4 wheels because with extra heavy items it may just be easier to push your luggage than pull it. So it isn’t just about the style, there is a lot of logic behind it.

A well-padded backpack:

A backpack waterproof backpack with pads on the shoulders and the back will be a lifesaver in crowded places, steep roads, bad weather, Hikes, and long distance walks. It really this that versatile. But be sure to pack only the most essential items into this. Want to test it? once all items are in, talk a walk around your neighbourhood with it, if you make it back without any difficulty then you pass the test…

Foldable Bag:

Very Important… On occasions where you need to carry nothing more than a wallet, and phone, their little fellas are going to be very helpful. If are just going to drop by the pub or cafe around the corner then a cross body sling, else a slightly larger foldable bag to hold any of your purchases.

Dry Bags:

You never know when mother nature decides to have a little fun. Dry bags are life savers especially during rainy or snowy weather to protect your mobile phone and wallets and that lose cash you may be holding. There is of course occasion you may have to even carry your passports… and that’s when you will thanking the world for this tiny little Invention.

Hygiene products:

This includes everything from your hand Sanitizers to you wet wipes to feminines wash products to sanitary products. The disinfectants are crucial when you are out and about exploring the heart contents and when you are just about to that hot dog or whatever is the local delicacy off that street cart, and then wet wipes, ohhhh wait till you find that dirty seat that you don’t want to sit on… And for those multiple bathrooms stops into the public toilets the feminine wipes are must haves…

Plastics bag:

There will come a time when you get tired of those unwashed clothes, and then keeping them segregated from your clean ones will almost become your life’s mission… and like a hero shows up the plastic bag. These are also versatile enough to carry anything from mobile phones to passports to wallets if you aren’t carrying a dry bag.

Pepper spray.

MUST HAVE. So important to be ready for anything. Sometimes things are unpredictable and it does get out of your hands you need to have those things handy that will be useful and yes pepper spray literally could be a lifesaver.

Money Belt:

Always thought they were tacky and never thought you’d own one. We are not talking about the big bulky brightly coloured ones either. There are plenty of them available now in the market, which looks very trendy and which are easy to carry, without jetting out. If you are staying in a hostel or may be in a hotel which does not have the convenience of a safe, then you will be forced to carry all your passport and extra cash out, and that’s when you realise how inconvenient it is to actually keep it in your backpack, because you will constantly have the urge to turn back and check the zip.

Torch Lights:

Power cuts are a reality in greats many parts of the world and the torch lights or flashlights are useful things to have at these times, especially in properties or places that aren’t well equipped with power back up or generators. Easy to carry and fit right into a backpack, these will take you a long way. Trekking, camping or hiking? You cannot, not have these.

Weatherproof Zip-up jackets:

So many varieties in the market that actually can be rolled into the small pouch to fit into your bag pack. In places where especially weather isn’t very predictable, this will save your day. The ultra-lightweight jackets, though sometimes is a little pricey is really worth the investment.

Flip Flops:

Every girl needs a pair. perfect in the beach, at a hotel or hostel which isn’t going to provide you with those plush cosy fluffy slippers, you definitely need a pair of your own.

Medications and First Aid:

You will be surprised how some of the Over the counter medicines in your country is a prescription drug in another. Even the simplest of the medicines need a consultation. We all healthy young individuals, seldom feel the necessity to carry medicines, but when in need it is important not to fall short off. A First Aid kit is a whole different matter, you really cannot do without. A Band-Aid and minor ointments for burns and injuries, and a mosquito repellent cream (Especially for Hiking or 3rd world countries), none occupy much space, and they do no harm to carry.

Scarf:

Such a Universal Item… helps with the weather, conservative dressing, or maybe to just make a fashion statement. But its so useful to have one at hand.

Power Bank:

You probably already have one, but it really is one of the most useful modern day inventions. With our mobile phones multitasking to such a great extent with the photos, Apps and Social, power bank is a mandatory part of travel. Never trave; without one, and the first chance you get always keep it charged.

We can give you more, but probably there is some we still missed out. But you need an absolute perfect list to check items off from in order to have a safe and fun-filled journey, and always remember to double and triple check before you take off.
