Kiulu, a small town in Tamparuli District in the northwestern part of Sabah, offers an exciting adventure for both adrenaline junkies and those who are just curious about the sport of white water rafting. This outdoor activity makes use of an inflatable raft to navigate down a river. The river of Kiulu is classified as having Grade 1-2 rapids, making it ideal even for people who have never tried the sport. Participants have to be physically fit as navigating the rapids requires a great deal of arm strength and the ride can get bumpy. So bumpy, in fact, that you can get thrown off the raft. But that’s part of the fun. And in certain parts of the river, body rafting is encouraged.
