This tour covers all the adventure that you can experience from the north to the south of Vietnam. Bike, trek, climb and see all the places that are of great historical importance and do everything that will satiate your hunger for adventure.
Be it the cultural sights in Hanoi, to the high energy streets in Ho chi Minh, the rice fields in Sapa or the rugged jungle clad terrain of Catba, its all been covered here for you.
You will be starting out your Vietnam adventure from the North. Upon your arrival to the country’s capital of Hanoi, a driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. If you wish to go around town, you can easily navigate your way through the streets of Hanoi.
Overnight in Hanoi.
At 8:00 AM, your guide will meet you at your hotel and will take you out to the countryside of Hanoi. Along the way, you will see the Eiffel Bridge, also known as the Rainbow Bridge. You will be covering a distance of 25 kms. You will be crossing the Duong river aboard a local ferry to visit a farmer’s house and an ancient fortress.
You will get to see the local way of life in the villages and enjoy the view. You will have a traditional Vietnamese lunch before you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Late in the evening, you will ride an overnight train to go to Sapa.
The train arrives in Lao Cai Railway Station at approximately 5:30 AM. You will be transferred to your hotel for breakfast and some free time. The first trekking activity begins after lunch. You will visit Cat Cat and Sin Chai Villages of the Black H’Mong tribe. The view along the way is stunning and you can also enjoy the waterfalls.
Dinner at the hotel and overnight in Sapa.
After breakfast, you will go on another trekking adventure to Lao Chai village. As you keep walking to the bottom of Sapa Valley, you will arrive at the beautiful Tan Van village. A picnic lunch will be served along the way. You will ride a motorbike to get back to Sapa. Should you wish to freshen up before your transfer to Lao Cai Town, there are facilities available. You will have your dinner in Lao Cai before you ride the overnight train back to Hanoi.
At approximately 5:30 in the morning, you will reach Hanoi. You will then head to Haiphong and cross to Cat Ba Island. This largest island in Halong Bay is an ideal spot to view the famous Karst Mountains while avoiding the big crowd. In the afternoon, you will get on a junk boat and cruise out into Lan Ha Bay. Authentic Vietnamese dinner will be served on board while you enjoy the sunset. Take a dip in the waters after your meal and be mesmerized by the bioluminescent plankton that makes the water glow. Sleeping accommodation is pretty basic but nonetheless unforgettable. It would be like camping, just on a boat. Weather permitting you will be sleeping under a starlit sky.
In the morning, you will see the sunrise and the local’s way of life on the bay as you have your breakfast. You will then disembark and board a kayak as your guide leads you to explore floating villages, giant lagoons, and beaches. When you return to the boat, your lunch will be ready. After some time of relaxation, you will begin your climbing adventure. You will disembark at Moody Beach and the guides will set up climbs. You will be given a briefing and strap you in proper gear. The guides will be with you and coach you as you start climbing.
As the sun is setting, you will cruise back to Cat Ba.
Overnight in Cat Ba.
After breakfast, you will cross back to Haiphong from Cat Ba. You will then be transferred to Cat Bi International Airport from where you will fly to Ho Chi Minh. Upon your arrival in Ho Chi Minh, a driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
At 8:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel and will travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This complex network of underground tunnels played an integral part in the lives of Vietnamese soldiers during the war. You will be spending some time exploring the many chambers of the tunnels and get a sense of how it was like to survive inside. You will then make a stop at a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch before heading back to Ho Chi Minh. The second half of the tour will take you to the famous landmarks in the city such as the Central Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the War Remnants Museum.
Transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
The Mekong Delta is one of the gems of southern Vietnam. Here you can find rivers, swamps, floating villages and markets, and pagodas. For this tour, you will start off by travelling to My Tho by car. Your first stop will be the Vinh Trang Pagoda. You will then cruise through a fishing village and visit the Unicorn Island. You will be exploring the villages in Ben Tre on a rickshaw. You will also visit a bee farm and ride a canoe to go further into the canals of the Delta. You will have your lunch and rest on the island. In the afternoon, you will go around the village by bicycle and meet some locals before heading back to My Tho.
Transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
There is no planned activity for this day. You can choose to visit the local market and buy some souvenirs if you wish. Your airport transfer will depend on your flight schedule.
