Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Hanoi

Start your Vietnam tour from the northern part of the country by arriving at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. A driver will pick you up from there and take you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
We recommend you to explore the Old Quarter and feel like you are travelling back in time with its old brick houses and narrow streets from centuries ago. Also, catch a water puppet show in Thang Long Water Puppet Theater.

Day 2Transfer to Haiphong then to Cat Ba Island

In the morning, you will travel to the port city of Haiphong by land and take a boat to Cat Ba Island. This is the largest island in Halong Bay. With its rugged features, this is the perfect island for adventure-hungry tourists.

Day 3Trekking on Cat Ba

Your first adventure on the island takes you off the beaten track to a farming village called Lien Minh. From here, your guide, who was born and raised in this very village, will lead you out into the limestone jungle. The trek can be challenging with you having to scramble up and down many steep peaks but it will be a lot of fun.
You will be walking on goat paths and through dense flora, so it is highly encouraged that you come prepared with durable close-toed shoes or hiking boots. The climb will reward you with breathtaking views. For you to experience the local culture, you will be taken to your guide’s house for a traditional Vietnamese lunch and for a quick rest. You will continue your trek after and will be taken back to town after a full day of venturing out into the jungle.

Day 4Top Rope Rock Climbing in Halong Bay

Northern Vietnam is synonymous with cruising Halong Bay and it is all for the right reasons. The scenic ocean karst and islets scattered in the area plus the diverse floral and faunal species found here are worth visiting. It is even believed that prehistorical human beings lived in this area long before the ancient cultures existed here.
To keep the theme of off the beaten tracks going for this adventure too, you will cast off to the less touristy yet still stunning southern portion of Halong Bay- Lan Ha Bay. You will start by cruising through the karst towers aboard the traditional Vietnamese junk. To get up close and personal with the hidden gems of the archipelago, you will get off board and your guide will lead you on a kayaking tour of the giant lagoons, beaches, and floating villages. Lunch will be served on board. You will have some time to relax and get ready for your afternoon climbing adventure at Moody Beach.
There will be a safety briefing prior to being strapped into a harness and proper gear. The climb will take you 22 meters above the water and your guide will be coaching you along the way. So beginners can totally do this climb.

Day 5Transfer to Haiphong and Fly to Da Nang then Transfer to Hoi An

The day will be spent travelling to central Vietnam. You will transfer back to Haiphong early in the morning to catch a plane to Da Nang City. Then you will travel to the ancient town of Hoi An for the next part of your adventure. Hoi An is a quaint port town that has preserved much of its history. Feel free to spend the rest of your day walking on the town’s old streets and explore the ancient houses and temples. There are also a lot of stores for handmade things. Arm yourself with a camera as everywhere you look is picture-perfect.

Day 6Motorbike Tour to Son Tra

For this day trip, you will get on a motorbike and ride to the mountains of Son Tra. Along the way, you will stop by Thang Bang An to visit the 900-year-old Cham tower and Bo Bo Hill which was used as an American base during the war. A coffee break at a local shop will be made before ascending 642 meters above the coast line. The magnificent view here will surely take your breath away. Watch out for monkeys too. After all, Son Tra Mountain is also known as Monkey Mountain. As you descend, you will see the country’s biggest Buddha statue and fishing villages. Your last stop before making your way back to Hoi An will be at Marble Mountain. In this pilgrimage site you will find pagodas, statues, caves, and marble and limestone hills.

Day 7Rowing Basket Boat and Riding a Buffalo in Hoi An Countryside

At 8:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel and your guide will give you a briefing of the day’s activities. You will then start biking to the Hoi An countryside. Your first stop will be at Tra Que Organic Vegetable Village. You will meet local farmers and learn about organic farming. You can also try your hands at some farming activities. As you continue riding, you will get to Cam Thanh Ecological Village where you will learn about rice farming with the help of a water buffalo. You will get the chance to ride on the back of one. It’s fun! You will then have lunch and get a foot massage at a local’s house. Then you will ride a pulling cart over the paddy fields. You will also get on a Phuoc Hai local fishing boat to visit a water coconut palm forest and a fishing village. You will experience casting a fishing net like a local and can get on a traditional Vietnamese basket boat too.
Transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8Transfer to Danang Airport and Fly to Ho Chi Minh

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Da Nang International Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh in southern Vietnam. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Many interesting attractions in the city, including the War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, and Saigon Central Post Office, are within walking distance so feel free to do your own exploring.

Day 9Ben Tre and Mekong River Tour

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Ben Tre, a 2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh. You will get on a boat and cruise on Ham Luong River. Stops along the river include a salt refinery, a mat weaving house, and a coconut processing factory. The boat will dock at a local village where you can see the local way of life. You will then ride a xe loi, a kind of rickshaw, to a restaurant by the river for lunch. After lunch, you will get on a sampan to explore more the narrow canals of the river. Return to boat and head back to Ho Chi Minh.

Day 10Exploring Cu Chi Tunnels

The Cu Chi Tunnels are made up of a complicated network of underground tunnels that were used for military operations of the Vietnamese soldiers during the war. Crawl through the different sections of the tunnels and learn a thing or two about the struggles of the soldiers, how they fought to survive living in the tunnels and against the invading troops. Discover secret hideouts and booby traps. Have a taste of tapioca which became the go-to food of the soldiers while living underground. You can also try shooting with real bullets at a firing range.

Day 11Departure

You will use the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh to exit Vietnam. Your transfer to the airport will depend on your flight schedule.
