This half-day bicycle tour sets out early in the morning, and takes you from Battambang city to the beautiful Ek Phnom temple. En route to Ek Phnom, you will pass through small villages, and get a glimpse of their daily life.
Your day will begin with the ride to the Battambang countryside, where you get to visit a rice paper maker and learn about the processes involved in the making and trade of the delicate rice paper.
Next, you will stop at a scarf workshop where you will learn about the craftsmanship involved in this trade. You will also have the opportunity to browse and purchase the many scarfs that are on display.
After scarf shopping, you will now cycle towards Ek Phnom temple where you can walk around the temple grounds as your guides tell you more about the temple’s history, including the events surrounding the Khmer Rouge regime. This is wonderful opportunity to photograph the temple, which is surrounded by many old banyan trees.
After visiting Ek Phnom temple, you will cycle through vast areas of rice fields.
For your final stop, you will head to a pagoda. Besides holding great significance to the Cambodian-Buddhist community, this particular pagoda is historically rich, particularly due its relevance during the Pol Pot regime.
